Welcome Home Plants

Welcome Home Plants is a pay-it-forward program that advocates for affordable housing and gifts those who were experiencing homelessness with houseplants. Plants make it a home and affordable housing is a basic human right.

Every purchase will gift a plant and workshop to a permanent resident of Breaking Ground. With your purchase, you may welcome home a new plant and welcome home a new plant parent to our plant community.

With a Make it Home Plant purchase you will gift a resident with an houseplant and a workshop.

With a Welcome Home Plant purchase you will receive a houseplant while also paying it forward and gifting a resident with a houseplant and a workshop.

Our goal is to provide each of the 152 units at Breaking Grounds Betances Residence located in the Bronx, New York with a plant and a workshop. Please support this goal by purchasing your order by March 6th, 2022.

This program will only be successful if we have a community of houseplant advocates also advocating for affordable housing.
